GCUH is now Australia’s largest hospital with 750 overnight beds, three times larger than the previous Gold Coast Hospital. It has 20 operating theatres and it was a record breaking undertaking to move all of the equipment, patients and staff to its new premises.

The Queensland Children’s Hospital (QCH) is a $1.5 billion project, representing the largest capital investment in the history of Queensland Children’s Health Services and is one of the major health projects underway in Australia.

The new QCH will function as the primary emergency treatment facility for Brisbane as well as providing statewide healthcare services for children with severe or complex medical conditions.
