In on going efforts to improve our productivity and competitiveness our air handling and fan assembly staff are undertaking training in competitive manufacturing. All assembly staff and supervisors are completing either a Certificate III or IV in competitive manufacturing, which includes both theoretical and practical training. For many of the staff undertaking the training it is there first exposure to lean manufacturing tools such as value stream mapping and 5S, but even at early stages of the course the benefit was evident.

We feel that it is essential to invest in not only the latest plant and equipment but more importantly our people. We are proud to be a Queensland based manufacturer of quality air handling products allowing the opportunity to provide local manufacturing jobs.
We would be pleased to collaborate with other companies that have embarked on the lean manufacturing journey to share experiences. Please contact Air Designs’ General Manager, Jim Godwin, if interested in such collaboration.
